This is a twenty week course divided into two quarters, emphasizing two complementary areas of study. Ten weeks of this course will be spent teaching students effective note taking skills; binder organization as well as student lead tutorials. This course is designed to help students transition to middle school providing them with the skills that will carry through with them to high school. Ten weeks of this course will be spent preparing students to effectively use the computer to achieve their goals. The class will emphasize the appropriate use of social media, Web navigation to sharpen research skills, office skills such as word processing and presentation tools and keyboarding. Students completing this course will be better prepared for success in the Gateway to Technology course and the Eighth Grade Reach Program.
