Exploring Culinary I - A fun and practical elective course that provides a basic introduction to food preparation including understanding safety, learning kitchen equipment, measuring ingredients, and reading recipes. Fundamental nutrition guidelines will also be discussed. The skills learned in this semester-long class will be used for a lifetime! In addition to acquiring the above skills, students will be preparing many different delicious and fun foods, such as pretzels, muffins, smoothies, cookies, pancakes, omelets, twice-baked potatoes, pizza, spaghetti, enchiladas with Spanish rice, lettuce wraps and more!

Exploring Culinary II - This class provides continuing experience and skills related to food preparation and nutrition. Students will be building on the fundamentals learned in Exploring Culinary 1 by preparing various foods in themed units and other labs designed for learning advanced cooking techniques.  Students practice cooking techniques during a series of approximately twenty five cooking labs (all different recipes than Exp. Cul. 1)throughout the semester and by completing five Home Cooking Assignments.
